Commercial Register Office

The Commercial Register is a network of state-run databases. Its primary function is to document and disclose legally significant information about legal entities, and it serves to ensure legal certainty in business dealings and protects the interests of third parties.

The Commercial Register of the canton of Zug currently lists over 38,500 companies based in the canton.

The incoming documents are processed by the clerical department and all the entries are legally checked for accuracy before they are included in the daily register. After approval by the Swiss Federal Commercial Register Office (EHRA), the data is entered in the main register and is made available for publication in the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce and online in the Central Company Index.

The entries and the documents submitted (registration, minutes, certificates, etc.) are public. You can see the latest articles of association and foundation deeds directly via the Internet. You can view the other documents electronically at the counter or order them via e-mail.

The Commercial Register Office provides information via phone and in writing on facts relevant to the Commercial Register and maintains direct contact with Zug's businesses on a daily basis.
