Our commander
Dr. iur. Thomas Armbruster
Commander of Police, Thomas Armbruster, has been in charge of the Police of Zug since December 1, 2018. As the Head of the Department, he oversees six main divisions and works with the management and staff to fulfill the police mission. Maintaining security and order for people and investigating criminal offenses are at the heart of this mission.
Thomas Armbruster represents the interests of the canton of Zug as President of the Central Switzerland Police Commanders' Conference (ZPKK), the Concordat for the Intercantonal Police School Hitzkirch (IPH), and in the Conference of Cantonal Police Commanders of Switzerland (KKPKS).

Our departments
The safety of our citizens is our top priority. Our force, with more than 300 police officers and security assistants, along with 70 civilian employees, is committed to safeguarding our citizens. Our collective efforts ensure efficient emergency services for our community.
Our mission, as defined in the Police Act, is to inform, advise and take action to ensure public safety and order. By being present and taking preventative steps, we strive to prevent and resolve crimes and accidents.
Collaboration and teamwork are essential to our success. We can carry out our operations professionally only by working together. Moreover, advanced equipment and continuous training contribute to the success of our operations.
