The Department Secretariat is the support center of the Department of Finance. Our experts draft and evaluate financial policy initiatives. We also handle financial strategy, financial oversight and administrative work for the State Economic and Concordat Commission.

About us
As the support center of the Department of Finance, we assist and advise the Department Head in his official duties.
Our experts draft proposals for the Government Council and Cantonal Council on financial matters, and assess the financial effects of proposals from other departments. We are accountable for the canton's financial strategy and ensure that the guidelines defined in the strategy for a healthy state budget are always followed.
Our Legal Service manages and supports the legislative process, conducts contract reviews, and addresses complaints related to personnel law.
The Government Council is the supervisory authority for the municipalities. The Department of the Interior maintains oversight unless another department is tasked with this. We oversee the finances of municipalities, and manage the Secretariats for the State Economic and Concordat Commission of the Cantonal Council.
