Pediatric and Adolescent Health Department
As the department responsible for health education and prevention, we provide services and recommendations for school, work, leisure and family life. We support you in nurturing the positive development of children, adolescents, and young adults.
Topics
We deal with a range of issues related to physical and mental health, including the use of tobacco, alcohol, cannabis and other addictive substances, as well as non-substance addictions. We also address the risks and opportunities of digital media, mental and sexual health issues, and other aspects of health.
Do you deal with children, adolescents or young adults at school, work, as part of your job or during leisure? Are you directly affected by one of these topics or do you know someone who is?
If you're interested in establishing health-promoting and sustainable practices in your institution, we can help.
We are here to assist you and provide guidance on your specific project.

About us
Our team members have backgrounds in medicine, psychology, sex education, social work, environmental and health sciences and sports.
We want children, adolescents and young adults to thrive physically, mentally and emotionally, and enjoy positive relationships with themselves and others. To make this happen, we provide workshops, courses, events and projects for school, work, leisure and family.
We work directly with children, adolescents and young adults engaging in participatory projects to understand their lives better. We collaborate regularly with parents, guardians, caregivers and professionals from the education sector, school social programs and youth work.
As part of national, cantonal and local networks, we help implement and advance health-promoting measures.
Team
Freelancers, trainees, interns, peer educators or peer teachers play a vital role in our team, alongside our core members.

We are looking for you!
Are you 18 years old? Do you have a driver's license? Are you communicative and reliable? Are you interested in the subject of alcohol, drugs and medication in road traffic? Then apply!
What is VKU4 about?
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is one of the most common causes of road accidents. To do something about this, the Office of Public Health and the Zug Traffic School are running the “Your choice - your freedom” project. The idea: new drivers discuss alcohol- and drug-related traffic accidents with specially trained young people. The aim is to achieve a more authentic effect than if the driving school instructor were to impart this information to their learners.
You don't need any prior knowledge. We train all peer teachers for the assignments.
What you should know
- Work location: Zug traffic school
- Workload: 2 to 3 lessons per month
- Days: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
