Mediocre academics instead of good practitioners?

Input presentation by Mathias Binswanger, Professor of Economics, FHNW

We in Switzerland are generally proud of our dual system with its tried-and-tested vocational training. Politicians never tire of emphasizing that we have one of the best systems in the world. In reality, however, this system is increasingly being trod on. We want more high school graduates, bachelor's and master's degrees. As a result, potentially good practitioners are increasingly becoming mediocre academics, which at the same time exacerbates the shortage of skilled workers.

Pressure is created and perfection is exemplified. Perfectly sustainable, no waste, vegan and minimalist in Vanlife. The message of digital media begins in childhood and adolescence and continues to shape our thoughts and actions into adulthood. What influence do these developments have on our mental health, eating habits and body image? These questions will be explored in the presentation by nutrition and media psychologist Ronia Schiftan.

We will broaden your understanding of legal issues in the working environment, highlight potential stumbling blocks and strengthen your ability to react appropriately. Get actively involved using specific case studies and find out what advice the police can give you.

How can we use contemporary learning support in the company to motivate, encourage and challenge young people on their way into the job market so that they become committed employees?
